Our library includes over 15000 titles. Magazines and periodicals are registered as one title only. The main focus are publications to Ost- and Westpreußen, the german-baltic colony, teutonic order, the history of Ostpreußen and the issues of the integration and conservation of the cultural identity of the displaced people after 1945. An important part are biographics, prose and lyric from people, authors and poets who had their homeland in West und Ostpreußen.
The foudation of the library took place prior to the foundation of the "Ostpreußisches Landesmuseum" 1987 because there has been an collection of the "Ostpreußisches Jagdmuseum" and a significant inventary of the applied geography, hunting and forest, agriculture and horse breeding. Since that time every title is registered which associated with the history of Ostpreußen and applied geography. This collection is just a small part of aquisitions, i.e. the aquisition of the Lindemann collection with 2000 titles in the years 1970, 1977 and 1986. The biggest part are gifts because the library has no funds. The primary users of the library are the members of the Ostpreußisches Lamndesmuseum. With reference to the bibliography of the history of Ost und Westpreußen it was arraged by Ernst Wermke.
The libraray of the Ostpreußisches Landesmuseum is entirely registered with ist library program Allegro – C . Their stocks are easyly accessible online..
